Over the weekend, a team of U.S. pizza makers in Southern California — including champion Tony Gemignani of the Bay Area — beat the record set in 2016 by 250 chefs in Naples, Italy.
The total length of the pie built at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana was 6,333 feet — about 1.3 miles, covering most of the distance around the raceway’s oval. The previous record was 6,082 feet.
